Uncle Gary passed away on 5 Mar 09 after a long and pain battle with cancer... This is the first time I saw how a patient fight the battle, it is indeed a very 痛苦 process...
I think our family are quite "open" about this kinda thingy, that's why a lot of photos are taken, a lot of photos are uploaded here bcos the people in the photos are whom we know - our relatives.
Uncle Gary is the Founder of Bloomdale, thus you will see a lot of wreaths at the wake. We have counted the number of wreaths, a total of 76 wreaths.
Every night, we will have monks chanting. Cuzzie Dina said that the purpose is to clean the sins before reaching the other world.
The Ng Family relative - 黄世南. Uncle Gary and my mum's 堂弟。
The first two words of the Ng Family Men's chinese name are always 黄世 X.
黄世南 is a very chatty man who can talk non-stop the whole night till late hours. Even when 潘玲玲 asked him to go home, he can continue to talk for at least an hour before he really leaves.
Uncle Eric. The shorter and fatter version of 黄世南。
Cuzzie Dina with her tea. 这杯来头不小的 tea, 是黄世南请她喝的。
On the last night of the wake, we are suppose to decorate the coffin, thus Uncle Micheal is choosing and cutting the beauti-est flowers from the wreaths.
Look at the beautiful flowers... Nice colour combinations...
At first, double sided tape was stick onto the whole coffin and then we stick the flowers to it. The picture below shows im sticking the orchids. Orchids are difficult to stick bcos of its irregular base shape.
Finally it is done! So beautiful, isn't it?? it took us at least 4 hours to complete the whole process.
That night, I slept for 2++ hours only.

The next morning, Uncle Gary's 2 daughters talked to him.
And we had the last chanting with a packet of flowers in each of us' hands. As we walk around, we just release the flowers from our hand to the ground.
While friends and relatives giving their last respects to Uncle Gary, we bowed to them.

At Mandai Crematorium
Friends and relatives offering the last stalk of flowers.
And it is being pushed away...
From the viewing hall and this is what we see...
I heard that different crematorium have different kinds of viewing halls. Some are very "cruel" in the sense that, you are very near to the coffin as it is being sent for cremation. You can actually see and hear the burning sound...
Lucky Mandai Crematorium isn't like that, and the photo below is the last scene before it disappears in front of us...
After everything has ended, we removed the mourning badges from our sleeves...
and the white socks. We are told that wearing the white socks is to prevent leaving our "footprints" around...

A lot people said that Uncle Gary in this photo is very handsome. He has a very stern face. I still remember that when I was very young, very scared of him, don't dare to go near to him, haha...
