海南岛 ：第四天_7 Dec 08

As usual, 大清早 wake up and start to take pictures of the hotel's surroundings. Our hotel's outer design is chalet style.

From the hotel lobby, we can see the 观音 too.

Today we are leaving 三亚， heading towards 海口 direction, so it will be a long and tiring bus journey today.

Before lunch time, we spotted this marriage car. 阿萍姐 told us 海南人's wedding lunch is very different from us. They like to invite as many people as possible, even if they dunno you and you pop by, they will be gladly to invite you to sit down and eat.

海南人 结婚 emphasize alot on 吉时 too, 多或少一秒都不可以，一定要准准喔， wah the driver must be very stress like that...

阿萍姐 also said 海南男人很懒惰，they will leave all the work to the wives that's why the wives will appear more "chao-lao" （老气）than the husbands.

She once complained to her husband that why doesnt he help to do housework. Her husband replied: 你不知道海南男人就是这样的吗？结婚前就应该知道了嘛。

Late Afternoon, we arrived at 南湾猴岛。 A monkey nature reserve consists of 29 groups of 2500 monkeys.

南湾猴岛 is a peninsula island, we have to take the 2.1 km cable car ride. Look at the long queue...

Below are the 海上人家。These people have been living here for more than 500 years and they stay at the sea. They seldom come on land because they will “晕地”。 Just like us will have sea or plane sickness, they will have land motion sickness too because they are used to staying at the sea.

In the open air cable car, it is very cold and with strong winds blowing at our faces. Our hair just keep flying flying and I'm so worried that my contact lens will be blown away.

Finally, we arrived and the first monkey we saw is a lonely monkey standing at the entrance 发呆。

The centre monkey is 猴王。

Monkeys stay in groups, mainly consists of female monkeys and monkeys children, each group is led by a 猴王。 Each group has their own territory and there is no interaction between different groups. 有实力的猴王 usually will occupy the " CBD" area whereby there are lots of food and water. 没实力的 will stay in those ulu ulu areas. If one group accidentally step into one's territory, they will fight until they run away from their territory.

Being 猴王 got 3 advantages:

1, they got freedom in terms of eating, staying and moving around. If there is nice food, 猴王 will be the first one to eat, other monkeys dun dare to snatch from him. Other monkeys have to give way wherever 猴王 goes. Once 猴王 raise up his tail and move forward, other monkeys have to follow him around. Only 猴王 is allowed to raise up its tails, just like the 猴王 below.

2, 猴王 got authority. He can assign monkeys to guard the territory and they have a shift schedule.

3, 猴王 can have many wives. Just like 古代的皇帝那样，有三宫六院，七十二嫔妃，猴王 can choose many pretty monkeys as his wives. Other male monkeys are not allowed to go near his wives. Offenders will either get kick out of the group or bitten to death in the group.

To be a 猴王，it depends on their capability. They have to fight to be a 猴王，winner will be 猴王，loser will become 流浪猴。 Usually 猴王 will last for 4 years before a new 猴王 is elected. Being 猴王 is not easy, he has to protect his territory and the monkeys. He will be the first one to come forward if there is any dangers.

Likes the little girl, Wu Yu Xuan in my tour group, she speaks very smartly，很懂事, very cute. 好像小大人一样，哈哈。。。

This poor monkey lost in a fight with 猴王 and broke his right hand. Now he is handicapped.

小山羊 走冈线。 Everytime I see this picture, I'll laugh cos I'll never forget the 小山羊 facial expression while walking the 冈线，好好笑喔，哈哈哈~~

可怜的小山羊 still gotta U-turn after finish walking then stand on this little metal on the 冈线。On top of that, he still gotta turn 360 degrees on the small metal, 很难耶~

哈哈，its face 还是很好笑。He looks so helpless, bo-hiu, scared, angry, cant be bothered those kinda face, haha...

After the enjoyable Monkeys' trip, time to return. Find this queuing system very stupid, people just have to keep turning left and right, left and right to reach the other end. Think what? We are Pac-Man ar? -_-"

从天亮到天黑，the bus ride took us to 博鳌 (pronounce as ao2). Now we are nearer to 海口 liao, about 1 state away.

博鳌 is famous for its location and every year, important international conference is held at 博鳌。 Governors from other countries will gather here.

Behind the hotel, there is a nice garden and beach, hence bicycles are available for renting.
